Christine Lötscher elected to the Foundation Board

The Zurich-based literary and cultural scholar is a member of the Max Frisch Foundation's board of trustees.

At this year's spring meeting, the Max Frisch Foundation unanimously elected Christine Lötscher as a new member of the Foundation Board. The board will thus be expanded from six to seven members. Thomas Strässle, President of the Max Frisch Foundation, emphasises: "Christine Lötscher is an excellent literary scholar, has an outstanding network and is very experienced in dealing with the literary public. I am delighted to welcome her to the Foundation Board."

Christine Lötscher is a literary and cultural scholar. She studied German and History in Zurich and Munich and is now Professor for Popular Literature and Media at external page ISEK - Popular Culture Studies at the University of Zurich (UZH). She has worked as a literary critic for many years, including for the external page Tages-Anzeiger, external page SRF 2 Kultur, external page Republik and was a member of the external page Literaturclub programme on Swiss television. She is currently researching climate and (Swiss) literature, Johanna Spyri and the #BookTok phenomenon at the interface of pop culture and new reading and writing practices in the digital space. She is a member of the steering committee of the external page Centre for Contemporary Literature (ZLG) at UZH, a founding member of the Zurich Science Fiction Network of ETH Zurich and UZH and co-editor of the online magazine external page geschichtedergegenwart.ch.

The Max Frisch Foundation, based in Zurich, was established by Max Frisch himself in 1980. It is responsible for the administration of his literary estate.
