Max Frisch Prize of the City of Zurich
Launched in 1996, the "Max Frisch-Preis der Stadt Zürich" is awarded to German-speaking authors every four years and carries CHF 50,000 in prize money.

The purpose of the award is to recognise authors whose work addresses fundamental issues of democratic society in an artistically uncompromising way. The winners are chosen by the Max Frisch Foundation and the prize and its presentation is funded by the City of Zurich.
