Max Frisch felt a close affinity to his hometown throughout his life. He spent his formative years here, worked as an architect and playwright here, and engaged in many public debates here. The city left its mark on his work: from the blue of Lake Zurich and the eleven-o’clock chimes of the churches to his favourite haunts, such as the legendary Bodega Española.
