Searches

The Virtual Reading Room, the image database E-Pics and external page ETH Library @ swisscovery enable comprehensive research in the Max Frisch Archive's holdings.

Virtual Reading Room

In the Virtual Reading Room of the Max Frisch Archive you can search anonymously, as a registered person or as an identified person. To order and consult documents, you must at least register and, if necessary, authenticate yourself. You can find out more about the advantages of registered and identified users for research and access under Register and Identify.

Consult documents

You can consult documents from the Max Frisch Archive digitally in the virtual reading room or in analogue form in the reading room.

Consult online

If a digital copy is available, you can consult it in the Virtual Reading Room. If copyrights or other restrictions are still in force, you must submit a request for access before consulting online.

Consult in the reading room

If a digitised version is available, consultation is always digital. In justified individual cases, the original can be consulted in the reading room. Analogue documents must be ordered at least 2 working days in advance. Please note our opening hours.

Reference library

It is possible to use the reference library without prior notification during opening hours (Mon-Fri 10.00 to 17.00). Please leave a form of ID at the counter in the ETH Library's Reading Room Collections and Archives.

Using citations

If you cite from an unpublished document, all citations must be presented to the Max Frisch Archive for inspection prior to submission or publication. Moreover, permission to publish them must be obtained from the copyright holders.
