Usage

Please follow these instructions to prepare your visit to the Archive in the best possible way and organise it effectively. We would also be glad to help you with any questions via email or over the phone.

Searches

The archive database Max Frisch-Archiv Online, the image database E-Pics and external pageETH Library @ swisscovery enable comprehensive searches of the Max Frisch Archive's holdings. Archival material can be ordered directly after registering on the archive database.

Viewing

In principle, it is only possible to view documents you have ordered on the premises in the ETH Library's Reading Room Collections and Archives. If you would like to use certain archival material, please send the signed Downloadusage application (PDF, 130 KB) to the Archive. Please observe Downloadthe ETH Library’s Conditions of Use (PDF, 41 KB).

Written permission from the respective copyright holders may be required to view proprietary documents. We kindly ask you to as this makes it easier for our staff to prepare and provide competent advice.

Reference library

It is possible to use the reference library without prior notification during opening hours (Mon-Fri 10.00 to 17.00). Please leave a form of ID at the counter in the ETH Library's Reading Room Collections and Archives.

Using citations

If you cite from an unpublished document, all citations must be presented to the Max Frisch Archive for inspection prior to submission or publication. Moreover, permission to publish them must be obtained from the copyright holders.

Reproductions

For search, copy and reproduction requests, the rates listed under the ETH Library's Fees apply.

Directions  

The Max Frisch Archive is located centrally in ETH Zurich's Main Building (level H).
